I am light.
I am dark.
I am dusk.
I am Dawn.
You called me to be, and so I came to be. In this land I shall make my enemies or my friends. Whichever that decides to fall on my path.
But I shall decide my own fate...
But I shall decide my own fate...
Furtively the equine's eyes searched for a sign of water. After so many weeks of roaming the desert, it was a relief to finally find a place with green, green grass. Even though she hungered, her lust for water was much greater...
That day seemed so peaceful, the morning dew was still visible on each blade of grass. Not much could be heard apart from the simple thud of each step that took the equine closer to the stream. Her nostrils flared, as she felt weary of the many small eyes that peered at her. The birds chirped uneasily at her arrival and every now and then a small mammal might cross her path.
It barely crossed her mind that there might be others like her around. It didn't matter much anyways, she didn't really feel like socializing...
She lowered her nape as the tip of her hooves touched the stream. Dawn parted her lips, shivering slightly when she felt the cold of the river on them, and drank.
She lifted her head when she was done and gazed about. Suddenly feeling drowzy, Dawn walked across the river to reach an old-looking tree. It's branches seemed to scrape the sky in an odd angle, providing much shade for a very drowzy Dawn.
Making sure there were no predators around, she sniffed the air to see if she could catch the scent of one. Smelling nothing but the dew and on-coming rain, she decided it was ok to take a nap. Slowly she layed herself down below the giant tree, closing her eyes slightly as she drifted off to sleep...
